Bohyeon Kim explores the framework of painting through sculptural intervention. Employing found objects and digital images woven into sprawling installations, anthropomorphic and surreal qualities emerge. Probing the relation between object and subject, Bohyeon’s practice is centred on deconstructing layers of form, colour, shape and texture, agitating the materiality of surface.

Bohyeon Kim holds an MFA in Fine Art Painting from the Slade School of Fine Art, London and a BA in Oriental Painting from Chung-Ang University, South Korea. She has recently exhibited in London, Seoul and New York, with her most recent solo show, Time Warp, at Chashama in New York. Recent group shows include Austin Forum in London, Salon De Grafica Contemporanea in Ecuador and Space 776 in Brooklyn. She is a current resident artist of Chashama’s ChaNorth residency program.
